What is OVOT?

OVOT stands for Overseas Victims of Terrorism. We are a group of survivors from the terror attack in Port El Kantaoui, near Sousse in Tunisia on 26th June 2015, where 38 people were killed, 30 of whom were British. These people lost their lives to gunmen belonging to the so-called Islamic State (IS). We formed OVOT as a way to raise funds to help support and pay for much-needed counselling for those suffering as a result of this experience. Some survivors have developed different stress and anxiety related disorders since the attack and we want to ensure they can access all the help they need, when they need it.

What now?

The need for counselling may never go away for many survivors and we would like to do as much as we can to raise awareness for our cause. There was a very moving memorial service to commemorate those who lost their lives in Tunisia, at Westminster Abbey on 12th April 2016, where many survivors wore a specially designed pin badge.

This badge was designed and created by injured survivors and has been aptly named “The Hand of Support and Unity”. It is a symbol of recognition for all those that have suffered following the horrific and tragic events of last year in Tunisia.

OVOT Pin Badges

How can you help?

Due to numerous requests from members of the public, we are placing the “The Hand of Support and Unity” pin badges on sale and putting all funds raised towards supporting the OVOT survivors.

There are two types of badge available – one is bejewelled with red, white and blue rhinestones (ideal for the ladies) and the other is a plain version, both are gold plated with a coloured Union Jack flag.

It would be extremely fitting if as many people as possible could wear one, especially in the lead up to the first anniversary of that tragic day in June 2015. These are proving very popular and we are hoping to produce larger, special edition versions in solid gold and solid silver. We also hope to produce a wider variety of “The Hand of Support and Unity” items to continue raising funds in the future.’

How much are the “Hand of Support and Unity” badges?

These badges are just £4 each which includes postage and packaging.
Please order your badges today to avoid disappointment!
